What's in The News Today

A terror plot out of Boston aiming for the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol. Rezwan Ferdaus  a 26-year-old with a physics degree was planning to blow up the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol with remote controlled airplanes. FBI agents also uncovered that he had requested grenades, 6 machine guns, and 24 pounds of C-4 explosives. Ferduas supposedly traveled to Washington to meet with al-Qaida, but instead it was an undercover FBI agent. After, his meeting in Washington he drew up a 15-phase attack plan he rented a storage place to work on his remote controlled planes. When he was asked about about killing women or children he stated that "all non-believers of Islam were his enemies."

Listeria Bacteria can take up to two months to show signs of the bacteria. The listeria outbreak is considered the deadliest food crisis in the United States within 10 years. The cantaloupes are from Jensen Farms in Colorado. They have been taken off the shelves, but it can take up to two months before symptoms occur. It only takes a trace of the bacteria to make someone sick.

Early Symptoms:
  • Fever
  • muscles aches
  • if gone untreated it can effect someone from speaking

Tyson is recalling its ground beef for E. coli poisoning. Two children were hospitalized due to E. coli poisoning. The recall is Kroger-brand "Ground Beef 73% Lean-27% fat." also Buther's Brand. It was distributed to several states: N & S. Carolina, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.  E. coli poisoning can lead to death if left untreated.
