What's in The News Today

Border crossing was partially shut down for two days and today the crossing will be completely opened. The border crossing includes San Diego, Tijuana and Mexico was closed to enter the U.S. when part of a canopy collapsed. The canopy fell on lanes at the San Ysidro port of entry, which is the nation's busiest border crossing. This sent 11 people to the hospital and a traffic nightmare. The crossing has 50,000 vehicles and 25,000 pedestrians daily. The collapse occurred at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday when wooden panels and concrete beams gave away and fell onto cars. Construction workers saved three people that were trapped in their cars.
