What's in The News Today

 Miners get trapped in the village of Pantukan town in Compostela Valley in the Philippines, due to a landslide last Friday. The lack of oxygen and rising waters are threatening 17 trapped miners. The search will continue and 5 miners were found dead and 17 are still missing.

Jon Bon Jovi singer opens a homeless shelter for young adults in Philadelphia. The housing project will consist of 10 two bedroom units, a lounge, and computer spaces. It also has a recreational area, it can support temporary housing for 20 homeless youths under the age of 21. "The Right of Passage" will provide a safe place and the skills and experiences that are needed for the youths to become independent and responsible. The residents are required to work at least 30 hours a week, do daily chores, participate in life classes and complete community service at least 3 hours a month. The residents are also required to pay rent.

Four are hurt near a church in Baghdad a bomb blew up outside of a catholic church. The bomb blew up after Easter mass service at Sacred Heart Church. The roadside bomb exploded at the rear of the entrance of the church leaving two civilians and two police officers wounded.
