In Ireland 500 pounds of homemade explosive device was found and defused. The bin where the explosives were stored was located in a van outside of Newry. The van was on a  main roadway between Dublin and Belfast. The blame for the explosives was an attack on the dissident republicans who killed a  police officer with a booby trap bomb in Omagh on April 2, 2011. The dissident republicans want Northern Ireland to be Irish not British.

The security at JFK (John F. Kennedy) airport in New York, is being scrutinized about the shuttle system. The port authority which consist of air train shuttle and ferries deal with thousands of passengers at JFK airport. There are no scanning of bags and passengers as they travel on a automated unmanned railroad.  New York is still vulnerable for a terrorist attack, 10 years after 911. The lack of communication is a great concern on the AirTrain system specially the non-existing central radio system in the new JetBlue Terminal Five.
