What's in The News Today

Hurricane Irene is going to slam the east coast after doing havoc to Puerto Rico. The storm left 800 people in shelters and 600,000 without electricity. The Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Turks, Caicos and Haiti is in the path of the hurricane. Irene should make landfall by the weekend in the United States.

Colorado is rattled by a 5.3 earthquake the biggest in 40 years. The epicenter was 180 miles from Denver. The quake lasted 30 seconds and caused rocks to fall on the highway and some structure damage. There has been 7 quakes since midnight.

David Letterman jokes about being threatened by al Qaeda "jihadist" followers. Stating that "for all radical muslims to cut off Letterman's tongue." Letterman makes a joke during his "top ten list.
