What's in The News Today

A second death from a parasite that attacks the brain. The parasite lives in fresh water: lakes waterholes, rivers and streams. They make their way into the nose causing meningitis: headaches, stiffness, fever and nausea as the amoeba eats the brain.  Courtney Nash a 16-year-old died on Saturday in Florida, after swimming in the St. John's river . Christian Alexander Strickland died August 5th from amoebic meningoencephalitis, after attending a day camp in Virginia.The best way to prevent the parasite is staying out of the water, but if you must where nose plugs.

There may be a motive to why Gary Giordano might have killed Robin Garner. The woman who went missing in Aruba and Giordano stated that "a large wave took Robin away." The FBI uncovered that Giordano had a 1.5 million life insurance policy on Robin.

A man prevents an abduction of a 6-year-old girl in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Phil Garcia tried to coax a girl into his van Monday afternoon and when that didn't work he pushed her into the van. A witness 'Antonio Diaz" got into his pick up truck and followed the kidnapper and Garcia crashed and fled on foot. Antonio grabbed the girl and police arrived a few minutes later.
