What's in The News Today

Two women go on a shopping spree using forged checks. They flew their friends on  a private jet to New York and then went on a shopping spree at Tiffany's and Montblanc. The roommates Alex Johzen Polar, 34 and Robin Antonella Pabello, 33 from Garden Grove, California stole the money from a law firm that  where Polar works. She forged a check $285,000 to charter the plane and they also put down $233,000 deposit on a $3.7 million house in Murrieta. They wanted to enjoy life because they were already in deep debt. They were caught while in New York and their bank accounts were frozen and were forced to fly back to LA in couch.

Congress freezes support to Pakistan aid. The U.S. has frozen $700 million aid to Pakistan until they give assurances that they will fight the spread of homemade bombs within the region. Pakistan civilian leaders and senator stated that "aid cuts would harden opinions against the United States and called it unwise and likely to strain ties further."

One out of six Los Angeles residents are living below poverty. It is the third year consecutive increase in the county's poverty rate, which raised from 2007, by 15% to 17.5% in 2010. Inflation did cause an increase in the median household income from $3,658 to $52,684.
