A bomb left from WWII in Germany may be a problem to deactivate.  The bomb weighs 1.8 tons and has the potential to destroy the city of Koblenz. The evacuations began last week with hospitals, senior centers, hotel and prisons with more than 45,000 people that have evacuated, which is half the population of the city. When officials are sure that no one has been left behind they will start to deactivate the bomb. They built a fire brigade wall with more than 2,500 sandbags. Deactivation of bombs is common in Germany it was estimated that 257 British air bombs during WWII were dropped in Koblenz alone.
Three people were killed last year from the bomb-disposal squad as they were deactivating a bomb.
