What's in The News Today

Protesters won't let the weather stop them. Anti-Wall protesters are going to camp out in a New York park even though harsh weather is predicted. The fire department took away the generators that were  used for heat, computers and to run a camp site kitchen for protesters. This will not stop the protesters and they camp out 24-hours a day, whereas in other states there is a curfew.

Are you buying the fish that is on the label or is it a mystery fish? Consumer reports revealed that 1/5 of 190 pieces of seafood that were bought in NY, NJ, Ct. were not the fish that were on the label. The fish were tested for DNA and only four of the 14 fish were identified correctly and those fish were Chilean sea bass, coho salmon, bluefin and ahi tuna. Eighteen percent did not match the names on the labels, placards and menus. The fish were passed off as catfish, grey sole, grouper, halibut, king salmon, lemon sole, red snapper, sockeye salmon and yellowfin tuna. The 10 lemon soles and 12 red snappers were not the specie they claimed to be. A labeled grouper fish was actually a tilefish and there are warnings about that fish for women of childbearing ages and children to avoid it. Some of the catfish were labeled incorrectly in what origin of the country they come from and sutchi catfish are imported from Vietnam where they are injected with drugs that the U.S. does not approve. Danny faces the grim reaper and wins. A stray mixed beagle was forced to the gas chambers in an Alabama pound with other dogs, but he was one of the lucky ones and survived. He was wagging his tail when the gas chamber door was opened. The gas chamber is a stainless steel box the size of a pickup truck bed and they place 7 to 8 dogs in it and fill it with carbon monoxide. This method of euthanizing is banned in many states. Danny has been adopted by a foster home in New Jersey and will be placed in a permanent home soon.
