Inspirational Friday

Diamond a pit bull saves her owners from a fire in Hayward, CA.. Diamond began barking and woke owner Darrly Sheen to find his apartment engulfed in smoke. He lowered his 9 year old daughter to safety and couldn't find his 16 year old daughter. Diamond found the 16 year old and when the firefighters reached the girl the pit bull was shielding the girl. Everyone did get out safely the girls were treated for burns and had to have skin grafts. Diamond spent 6 weeks at a pet hospital and was treated for smoke inhalation and burns. Her hospital bill was $5,500 when people heard what Diamond did their generous donations paid the hospital bill and the money left over was sent back. Diamond received a plaque, dog food for a year, air fare to and from Los Angeles and hotel accommodations for her and her family.

Charlie Sheen and others are donating time and money to the tornado victims. Actor David Spade
donated $200,000 for relief efforts to the American Red Cross. Charlie Sheen's website "Torpedoes Against Tornadoes" money donated will go directly to Alabama storm victims. People who donate $100.00 will receive a baseball signed by Sheen.

Special needs students get prom makeovers in Chatfield, Colorado. Sharon Macmannis teacher  from Chatfield High School organized makeovers for her female students. Tangles and Company donated the makeovers to these young ladies.

Another special needs story and thanks to Ms. Betty Davis teacher at Dwyer High School in West Palm Beach, FLA.  paid for her students to go to the prom. Many special needs students do not participate in the end of year festivities. Ms. Davis picked up the tab for the dresses, suits, limo and the dinner and she also accompanied her dates. They were all dressed in yellow.

These children spend everyday being special, but thanks to the generosity of others they were treated like every other student going to the prom.
