Inspirational Friday

Abbie Dorn a mother of triples became a paraplegic after giving birth to her child. The doctor nicked her uterus during the birth of the third triple. Her heart stopped and her brain was deprived of oxygen, which caused her to suffer severe brain damage. She cannot move on her own and she only communicates by blinking. The father divorced her shortly after, and had complete custody during the last five years. He refused custody rights to the mother because of her condition and he didn't want the grandparents to have any influence on their five old children. The grandparents brought him to court for visitation rights and the announcement just became public that they did win and they were granted three times a year visitation at their home in North Carolina. The father lives in Los Angeles, so the children will travel back to east to visit their mother. The grandmother stated that when "she talks about the children Abbie gets very excited and starts blinking continuously."

Cameron Clapp was told by his doctors that he would never be able walk again at the age of 15,  due to getting hit by a train. He lost three limbs, two legs above his knees, and right arm up to his shoulder. He learned how to walk with prosthetic legs and then running became his passion. He did not just stop at running he also skies. He  states it was frustrating to learn balance with two prosthetic legs, but he did not allow that to prevent him to live. His unstoppable determination has been an inspiration to others that have become amputees. Jake Speed lost his arm and part of  both his legs from being caught in a blizzard. Thanks to Clapp and sharing his motivational spirit Speed is also skiing and he states "it would have never happened without Clapps determination and sharing his passion for life."
