The shooter that struck a French school was on the United States no-fly list. Mohamed Merah that went on a shooting spree that killed three children and a rabbi at a Jewish school in France was on the FBI's "no-fly" list. He was on the list for being a risk for terrorism. Merah was able to launch three attacks where seven people are dead before his death. How he was able to succeed when he has been on law enforcement's radar since 2011 is the question that President Nicolas Sarkozy is asking? He is proposing that there was a failure in "intelligence services and wants further investigations to be done."

An Iraqi woman was beaten to death in California. The woman was found in a pool of blood in El Cajon, California. There was a note next to her and it said "go back to your country." Her cause of death possibly was a hate crime. Her 17-year-old daughter found her unconscious on the dinning room floor of her home. She was beaten and hit with a tool 8x in the head. She was taken to the hospital and put on life support and was taken off on Saturday at 3 p.m. Shaima Alawadi was 32-years-old and a mother of five. A week prior to her death a note was found that said "this is our country and not yours you terrorist." She did not take it seriously and thought it was a prank. The day they killed Alawadi they left a note with the same content. Alawadi immigrated to the United States in mid-1990s and moved to El Cajon, California a highly populated Iraqi population.
