What's in The News Today

A man suffers from injury when an electronic cigarette explodes in his face.  Tom Holloway 57, of Niceville, Fla was smoking a electronic (e) cigarette when his wife heard an explosion. She said "it sounded like a firecracker and she heard him scream and it was like a bottle rocket in his mouth." The faulty battery is to blame for the explosion. The battery was a rechargeable lithium. The explosion knocked out all of his teeth and part of his tongue. The device is not regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). The e cigarette aids in quitting to smoke tobacco cigarettes.

The United States Postal is looking for another increase. The price of first class mail will cost 50 cents. The U.S. Post Office is in a financial loss, which could be up to $18.2 million by the year 2015. The increase in a 50 cent stamp would be an 11% percent increase in postal rates. The USPS delivers 40% of the world's mail. By suspending Saturdays delivery would save $2.7 billion a year and an increase in stamps would increase annual revenue by $1 billion.
