Horse meat being served in France

Horse brains, pan fried horse heart and broiled horse cheeks are on the menu at a bistro, Le Taxi Jaune's, in Paris, France.
The horse meat is from Romanian cart horses and are being mislabeled in frozen lasagne sold in grocery stores. Consumption of horse meat dates back to the 18th Century. One of the few dozen horse butchers in Paris stated "the meat is leaner and tastier than beef". Many people were upset to learn that they had eaten horse instead of beef. Horse meat can also be dangerous to ingest due to medication that certain horses were administered
