Homeless Man Wins the Lottery and Shares His Wealth

Dennis Mahurin from Michigan has been homeless since 1978, and living in Bloomington homeless community. His luck changed when he scratched off the winning lottery ticket and won $50,000. The jackpot would have allowed him to move out of his tent, but instead he decided to share his winnings. He gave each one of the homeless people around him $100.00 and is planning to stay put for now.

A Dentist has Exposed 7,000 Patients to Several Diseases 

Dr. Wayne Harrington an oral surgeon in Tulsa, OKlahoma, has done the unthinkable "re-used instruments on his patients." He treated high risked patients that were known to have HIV, Hepatitis C and B. The unfortunate news is he also treated patients that didn't have any of the above diseases. Not only did Dr. Harrington re-use syringes, but his instruments were rusted from the bleach he used to clean them. Instruments need to be cleaned in sterilant/disinfectant and then in an Autoclave. 

Do make sure your dentist is properly sterilizing the instruments that will be used during your visit. They should come out of a Autoclave sleeve and should be sealed and opened in front of you.

North Korea Shoots at an American Image During Target Practice

For the last several weeks N. Korea has been declaring war with the U.S. and S. Korea. The United States has stated  "N. Korea doesn't have the means of following through with their threats," but the U.S. also sent F-22 fighter jets to South Korea. The bombers have been practicing with South Korea's military. On Saturday, N.Korea, (Kim Jong Un) summons they are in a "state of war" with S. Korea." North Korea has also stated that "they are targeting 7 cities in the U.S. with nuclear destruction." The U.S. has rest assured the American people that it's impossible for N. Korea to reach U.S. borders. North Korea has videos of their military shooting American soldiers at target practice.

A Fifteen Pound Baby is Born

A baby boy beats the odds weighting 15 pounds and 7 ounces of surviving birth. Doctors only gave him 10% chance of survival. Baby George King was born in England and went without oxygen for 5 minutes due to his shoulder getting stuck while trying to pass the birth canal. Baby George is 6 weeks old and doing great and there is know signs of any brain damage.

Amanda Knox is Back in the News

If you recall in my past post that Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were accused of killing Amanda's roommate. Amanda was studying abroad in Perugia, Italy when her roommate Meredith Kerscher was brutally murdered in 2007. Amanda and Raffaele were accused of the crime and spent four years in jail. They were both released in 201,  in an appeal, due to not having enough evidence. The Italy Supreme Court overturned Amanda's appeal and wants a new trial.  This would mean that Amanda may have to stand trail again and wouldn't be able sue for wrongful imprisonment. Amanda's parents spent a lot of money to get Amanda freed. Meredith Kercher's parents want answers about their daughter's death. The Kercher family was upset when Amanda and Raffaele were set free and many in Italy believe that they are guilty of the horrific crime.

In America you are innocent until proven guilty and in Italy your guilty until proven innocent.

 

A 13 Month Baby Boy is Shot and Killed During a Robbery 

in Georgia

Sherry West, the mother of the child, Antonio, stated " she was approached by two teenagers that demanded money at gun point, which she claimed she didn't have, but they insisted she did," and then exclaimed "do you want us to shoot your baby?" They shot four rounds and one of them grazed her ear then hit her in the leg. They walked around the stroller fatally shooting baby Antonio in the face. They pushed Sherry out of their way as she was screaming and ran off. One of the suspects was 14-years-old and is being charged as a juvenile and his name is being withheld. The other suspect is 17-year-old De'Marquis Elkins and is being charged as an adult with first degree murder. 

Sherry also said "she lost another child Shaun Glassey of 18-years-old in March, 2008." He was killed during an attempt of ambushing another teenager, but the 17-year-old was able to take the knife from Shaun and killed him with it. The 17-year-old was not charged, due to it being in self defense that the murder occurred.

A Dog is a Seeing Guide Dog for Another Furry Friend

It's the story about Issac and Isabella, Issac is a blind Siberian Husky and Isabella is a terrier who is Issac's guide dog. The strays were found in San Bernardino, Ca. They were saved from being euthanized by a private organization, Stand from Hermosa Beach, Ca. Isabella stays very close to Issac and watches his every move. Issac suffers from Glaucoma and you would never know it when you see the two together. Stand will keep them until they can adopt them out together.
