Are you buying the fish that is on the label or is it a mystery fish? Consumer reports revealed that 1/5 of 190 pieces of seafood that were bought in NY, NJ, Ct. were not the fish that were on the label. The fish were tested for DNA and only four of the 14 fish were identified correctly and those fish were Chilean sea bass, coho salmon, bluefin and ahi tuna. Eighteen percent did not match the names on the labels, placards and menus. The fish were passed off as catfish, grey sole, grouper, halibut, king salmon, lemon sole, red snapper, sockeye salmon and yellowfin tuna. The 10 lemon soles and 12 red snappers were not the specie they claimed to be. A labeled grouper fish was actually a tilefish and there are warnings about that fish for women of childbearing ages and children to avoid it. Some of the catfish were labeled incorrectly in what origin of the country they come from and sutchi catfish are imported from Vietnam where they are injected with drugs that the U.S. does not approve. Steve Jobs the founder and CEO of Apple computers died at the age of 56. Yes, he died, but he completed a life of someone who had lived to be one hundred years old. He left a legacy and many quotes that many can live by. Here are just a few:
  1. On how to live your life: "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."
  2.  Steve's quote on simplicity."That's been one of my mantras ' focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex."
  3. “I was worth over $1,000,000 when I was 23, and over $10,000,000 when I was 24, and over $100,000,000 when I was 25, and it wasn’t that important because I never did it for the money.”

Has our society become that vain that we are deciding our next president on his weight? Well if you think not you are wrong. Chris Christie is a possible president candidate and he is being criticized for being too fat. It seems that we the people want a tall, lean good looking president. I don't recall that being my perquisite for a president. Actually, I would prefer a fat honest president then a thin lying one. President Taft the 27th president was obese.
